- Darts Team: Devon, COME ON DEVON!!!!

To answer your question Justin, Devon do not have a policy concerning PDC player playing superleague or county, players are picked on merit depending on their superleague averages but will only be picked if they can offer a commitment to make themselves available for all of the games. As you are aware, for someone who plays the PDC tour this would cause quite a few conflicts.

- Darts Team: Kev Bulled for county

Hi All

Just out of intrest, seems that Decon County voted against the PDC take over of the BDO dose this mean that a PDC player can not play county darts for Devon. As i said this is purely out of intrest perhaps Mo or Trev would be kind enough to post on here to let me know.
Oh good luck Devon for this coming weekend.

Kind regards

Justin Pipe

I would like to put the record straight with regards to Terry Down's opponent Fred Pritchard in an earlier posting by Trevor Perry. "The Late" Fred Pritchard - one of the best darts players ever to play the game in Plymouth is still alive and kicking. Fred was the News of the World South Western Area champion 14 times, from his first title in 1953 right through to 1984 and is regarded in local circles as the doyen of Plymouth darts.

Hi Trev. Just like to add the BDO did nothing wrong in the promotion of darts. The banning of tobacco sponsorship reduced the number of top competitions which subsequently meant a reduction in TV coverage. In addition along came the game of pool which seemed to attract youngsters more than darts. It will be interesting to see what Mr Hearn does for snooker now he is in charge.
Best wishes to yourself and the County for your remaining fixtures, looks like a time for one and all to dig deep.

On behalf of Devon County I would like to pass our thanks to Colin at Heavitree for the 4 tickets to the Premier league at Westpoint. 2 tickets went to Pete Rice after the disappointment of missing out last year. The other 2 were raffled with the profit going to County funds. The winner was Tracy Ware and numpty.

Nice to hear from you again Christie. Glad to hear you may be back into superleague next season.

On the subject of the PDC, yes they have dragged darts kicking and screaming into the 21st century, with it injecting a new enthusiasm into our sport. A person can now make a more than comfortable living if the can project themselves into the top 64 ranked players. That said the top 32 BDO players are also doing nicely thankyou.

We have a lot to thankl Phill Taylor for.

Seems to me the BDO acted in the best interest of the vast majority who play darts in the UK. The PDC however deserve immense credit in my opinion for saving the game of darts. In our area darts was dying, it was being played by very few new younger faces until the advent of the PDC with its Sky coverage and Premier league format, the PDC and Sky as put darts back on the map.
The Rose & Crown hope to be competing in the superleague again next year and we look forward to meeting old friends.

Me and my brother got darts pro out of curiosity to see what we would average and have used this twice so far...

I averaged 57.45 and 58.22 and my brother averaged 57.42 and 56.89 in both games... we know we have played better before but was nice to see useful averages... missed doubles really lowers them though lol...

I was just wondering whether any super lge teams would be willing to take us on with the idea of us improving ourselves to be better! Plz lmk!
