Whilst joining in the congratulations for Bideford Royals Martyn John on a fantastic 36.66 ave last weekend i feel the need to set the record straight in relation to the news report that stated Martyn's ave was the highest of all time.

Sorry Martyn but it may well be the second highest as i personally witnessed Tiverton darting legend Terry Down recording a 38.54 (14-11-14) at the Half Moon in Sept 1984. Terry's apponent was the late Fred Pritchard who played for Futurama from Plymouth.

I think you should at least make yourself more informed before making humbug comments on matters that do not effect you or your friends Alex.

And just for the record I have no axe to grind with Justin Pipe, a player whom i both knew and had great respect for long before you even met him.

Justin is the player along with Dean Wiltshire, who in my opinion, all local players should be aspiring to at this moment in time.

Alex, with regards to "asking what the players wanted". You can't canvass opinions when you don't know what information will be given at the BDO meeting, thats why you entrust someone to represent you at the meeting, listen, assess and make a decision on your behalf.
As Mo has explained to you the information given at the meeting showed a takeover was not in the interests of any county darts players outside the premier division and thats why the counties overwhelmingly voted the way they did

Well im sorry if you dont like my opinions Trevor but as you know i am entitled to my own opinion or is it like the Justin Pipe argument we had in Inverness last year, i dont play County or superleague darts (im not supporting Devon darts) so i dont get a say, I have a question for you though, Did Devon have a committee meeting to find out what the players wanted ?

For a person who only plays with the game of darts at the moment Alex you dont half have a lot of opinions.

As a long standing member of the DCDO and being a life member of that organisation i much prefer to trust the future of my county in the hands of a democratically elected overseer than a dictator who has only got the interests of the top 32 players at heart.

Better the devil you know comes to mind.
